The Childville Nursery School was founded in October 1981 by Mrs. Olugbeminiyi Modupe-Ore Smith. The Nursery school which was situated at Ibikunle Street, Yaba, began with only 15 pupils. There were only two teachers; Mrs. Smith and a Sri-Lankan lady called Mrs. Honouring Gnanapragasam. Although the school started with 15 children on the first day, the number kept increasing daily so much so that by the end of the term, the number on roll had grown to 50.
